Well, I'm not LED, but I can tell you that the ASUS A7N8X is a damn fine board. I have my XP2500+ on it with dual channed Mushkin Black PC3200 DDR. I've got the FSB up to 400 (XP2500+ is a 333 bus part) and running at 2.0Ghz even. I made it post as an XP3000+ last night, but I really don't need that kind of speed anyhow.

As for a video card the 9800 series radeons are still king, but you can get a 9600 pro or better as a cheaper alternative. You could also grab an nVidia geForce FX5700 card for fairly cheap as well.

As long as your IBM hard drive isn't a GXP75 it's more or less bulletproof. I never actually had a problem with my GXP75s, but when I lent them to my sister's B/F he sure did.

As for sound cards, the Audigy rules the roost at the moment, but there is plenty of competition for that right now. It's a good time to buy a sound card. Also, if you get the A7N8X Deluxe it comes with the nVidia MCP integrated sound which, unlike most integrated sound, doesn't suck.
