In the interface you have to give those apps permission to use the internet. It usually pops up a window asking you, but some programs, especially games will hide those windows. Nutscrape is probably another one of these programs (wild specualtion since I use neither Netscape or Eudora).
Also, if your using ICS you probably have your local network settings set to high. Or you just need to give that computer permission to use your computer's connection in ZA's Control Panel. I know Zone Alarm works great with dialup, I know it works with WinXP, but maybe there is a problem with XP, Dialup and ZA. I never used all three combinations together, because I picked up XP after switching to cable.
