Back a few weeks/month, I posted a problem about my internet connection, (dial-up), not going anywhere once I connected. ie: Connected but Netscape, Eudora, Agent would not be able to address the internet).
This was running XP home & Pro on two different machines both running Zone Alarm and McAfee VS 6.X.
(XP's Built-in firewall was disabled).
The prob was the ZoneAlarm. ZA needed to be completely gutted. I used McAfee's FW and also bought a Linksys DSL/router to try. Both work.
ZoneAlarm would not allow internet connectivity unless you would re-boot if you left the computer go into power-saving. This was on a PtP network with 98 and win2k machines on it as well.
No mention of the prob on Zone's webpage.
