Some super socket 7 chipsets have problems with certain video cards. *Cough* Ali's Aladdin V with NVidia's TNT *cough*.

Whatever chipset you've got you should be wary of getting the newest cards because if you have a poor quality motherboard (or an old revision) then the voltage regulators may be unsatisfactory causing instability. (

It's a sad tale of poor support from 3rd party vendors for AMD processors. Fortunately that's all changed with the Athlon as I can attest.
