First.....thanks for the instructions on the power supply green power on to ground. That turned the power supply on so that isn't the problem.
I've removed everything from the m/b but the front panel switches, cpu/fan assembly and the power supply connection terminal. The power supply still doesn't turn on when pressing the power button on the front of the box.
Shy of the power on switch having gone defective it would seem the problem is a dead m/b. Would you agree?
I still have to put the hdd into another box that has a SATA input to see if it survived.
