That ME OS can be real nasty sometimes. Also that HD has to be very old & if the OS was never freshly installed then the klug of old or & killed programs could be slowing that computer way down. Beside any spyware, popups & virus's that could be lurking in there to. Then a cleaning of that system would be in order.
