Hi guys. I was wondering what version of the Detonator drivers
run the fastest (while still being stable/not buggy) on the GFIII,
in the experience of those on the forum.

I updated my drivers some months ago and noticed yesterday that
in certain scenes in the game "Max Payne" I'm getting drive
accesses which cause stuttering of the sound and pauses in
the gameplay and cut scenes (the cut scenes use the in-game graphics
engine) at times. And I don't think this happened at all when
I played the game when it first came out last year. And the
only thing I can think of that has changed in my system since
I played the game when it used to run smoothly at all times
are the GF drivers. The hard drive was just defragged, so
that's not an issue. And all the hardware in the system is
the same as it was when the game ran smoothly before in
those same situations.

So I'm thinking maybe a newer or older version of the GF
drivers might solve the problem.

I brought up my GeForce3 properties screen and under
"Driver Version Information" it lists my current GF drivers as
version 4.13.01.2832

I'm using Win98SE. Standard GFIII 64 meg card.

Any ideas on what version would be best to use (run faster)
and where I can download that driver version from would be
appreciated.

Also, I rarely change video drivers (if it isn't broke,
don't fix it, that is my general policy on drivers ), but
I know there is a process one should go through when
changing video card drivers to make sure all the old files
are overwritten when installing the new driver files.
Could someone please detail what steps those are and in
what order they are to be taken? If I change drivers,
I want to make sure all the old files are properly replaced
by the new files.

Thanks!
