The game was running slowly in certain scenes before I defragged, I only defragged
afterwards to see if that would help, but it didn't.

As far as windows, I run a very clean setup, nothing but a firewall (which doesn't take
much to run) running in the background when I play games.

I still have the driver disk for the GF that came with the system, I suppose
that will have the old drivers, but it might not be what the system came with.
Alienware may have downloaded and installed that latest Nvidia drivers that
were out at the time my system was built, instead of using whatever version shipped on the
GF driver disk. Although the GFIII was brand new then, so they might be the same.
I know that certain versions of the Detonator drivers have been said to
run a good deal faster than other versions, so I was hoping perhaps one of
the newer versions might be worth upgrading to. And the knowledgeable members of
the forum here would likely know which versions those are.
