2U Server

Well after piecing toghether a lot of different articles and bits of information I am starting to get some kind of idea of a good 2U server and its components.

First of all I have a budget of around $1500 for this server.

I don't think that I really need a dual processor setup but after looking at the Tyan Thunder K7 I don't see how I can improve in the price preformance catagory.

I wanted something with onboard Ultra 160 scsi raid because having never built a system in a 2U case format I am a bit conserned on what PCI cards are going to fit. I decided that the more onboard compontents the better for this reason.

One question that I had was, has anyone tried running xp processors in a dual mobo? I know that the MP ones are specifically designed for this purpose but If I can get away with it, it would save a few calms.

There are also a lot of 2U cases out there, would anyone here recomend any?
