I like Transmeta and codemorphing, but sometimes when you read what Transmeta is hyping you'll soon realize it's all hype. Sure, all this stuff sounds great on paper, but reality doesn't work in terms of "theory" - There's always going to be noise, stuff that a controlled experiment didn't plan for. But that's bad marketing against AMD and Intel on Transmeta's part -never build a chip on buzzwords. If you're going to make claims and promises with a chip, it better jump when people tell it to jump.

I give Transmeta props though because codemorphing is a pretty cool process. I read what is was in MIT's tech review. I read it and immediately knew what it was all about; it's so simple an idea. But since it was kind of like instruction compression/decompression, I wondered if it would have any real performance gain. I think they should just add more power to the sucker, personally. =)
