the boot loader is at the VERY beginning of C: and I am attempting to install on E: however...NT simply is not reading the drive correctly. This I do not understand as WinMe is up and running just fine.

If this is just an issue that was corrected in a service pack, I could try using a third-party Win9x NTFS driver (they do exist) to copy the entire NT SP6 installation from the old drive to the new, but if it is something else, I'll just get the same BSOD when trying to boot on the new drive.
