I have a friend who told me the same thing - the CNC router software will not work on an Athlon. He told me it didn't work on the Coppermine, either.

Maybe you should run 2 systems - one with older hardware for the routing software, and a newer one for everything else. Might be more cost effective than paying for the 32 bit version.
