Not that's it's worth more than $.02 (AU) ;~)>

If I were buying a Socket A mobo right now, I'd get the Iwill KK266 RAID. I'd have it already, but I'm under a self-imposed hardware purchasing moratorium (hehe). The "Turbo" BIOS for the board apparently provides the memory adjustments MS was hoping for in his review at LostCircuits.

Hopefully DDR boards will mature quickly, and by the time I'm ready to spend some money (after Easter), I'll have to re-evaluate.

For reference, I've got a Duron 600 on an A7V (no 133) at 105*9.5 for 997 MHz currently. I'm using water cooling becasue I got sick of the noise from all the fans I had in my system. I was using an Alpha PEP66 with dual fans at 945 MHz.

The choice between T-Bird and Duron depends on what you'll do with it. I play games, so the Duron works great for me. If you're going to be doing A/V work, you might benefit from the bigger cache on the T-Bird (not sure, though). Once you reach the 1 GHz range, FSB (memory bandwidth) is more important than squeezing every last MHz from the chip. My goal with my own new mobo will be 150 MHz bus, minimum.

Check anandtech.com for an article on the difficulties some people are experiencing when they try and run the chips spec'd for 100 MHz (200 DDR) bus at 133 MHz (266 DDR).
