This chips a dud and doesnt perform much better than my C600@855 - if any.

So in the next couple of months I'm looking to upgrade.
key issues - 30GB OS HD partioned 10/20
Promise 100 mod to FT100.
Upgrade Matrox G200 to G40016MB.
Chip and moboUpgrade.

I've got generic 2x128-PC133 RAM but that doesnt have to stay. I will compile a "for sale" system with my old 15G OS drive and PIII800+MSIBXMaster and G200 and generic addons.

QUESTION:
I have read Anandtech's Athlon clocking site and get an athlon here (Australia) for
Duron 750 = US$75
Duron 850 = US$100
TB 900 = US$135
TB 950 = US$160
Asus CUSL2 = US$150
Asus A7V133 = US$140

QUESTION
--------
What's my best and most likely solution for 1.1-1.2GHz oclocked.

Maybe these boards are shit and I'd be better of with others - recommendations pls.

I presume my generic RAM will come into question as its not "Athlon tested".

In the end all the extra $$$ might work against the speed benefit I hope for (about 40%) - ie: wait 4 months and pick up a PIII-1.2G for cheap chips and keep everything at normal clock.

TIA
