There are many direct USB to USB cables that sell for about $35 to $50, I think I paid $49 plus some shipping for my complete kit which included the software.
Since you can download the most current drivers at their website, for free, all you need is a cable that works USB TO USB. The cable I have has an inline filter or whatever, big looking capacitor in da middle of the cable, and it is probably needed to get the whole thing to work. Could be it turns the wires around to make it like a crossover cable.
