Its that long ago!!!225 W should pump, depending on what you,ve got attatched.[that was packed full of bits ,looking at the photo.]What,s the output section of the class A.Is it a high power or Low power output[A lot of class A are low power, but because of the Quality of reproduction.it would lead most people to think otherwise]
Your a busy boy somedays,as i presume this is outside of the day job hours ,that you work on these.16 ohms will give a better frequency response!even if it does reduce output power.
@ 175 watts ,or so;what sort of tweeters and midrange devices do you use .I have a bad habit of frying mine .More often than not ,because of my synth and the high frequency transients it produces.i use 100+ watt piezo horn type things for the tweeters, and have tried various mid,s of similar watttage.I manage to fry bits of my crossovers too, sometimes. And thats at about 70W[rms] per channel, which i presume is peaking out at around the 100+ Watt area.
I still have to rebuild my old 150 Watt per channel;but i,m not in a hurry.I have a set of boxes that the main drivers[10"x2 in each box] in will handle up to around 300 W each, and another with 15" woofers @ about 100+W each;but the top and midranges in both tend to die.Mainly the tweeters.
