Ah, but every connection has a client (the machine initiating the connection) and a server (the machine being connected to) both machines can be running a client OS like XP.
When you are talking about limited connections you need to specify the type of connection, HTTP through a browser, remote file system connection through network shares, FTP, remote desktop connections, Telnet... You can also talk about incoming and/or outgoing TCP connections in general.
Since you were talking limits on XP connections being changed from 2 to 10 in the registry, I assumed that you were describing outgoing HTTP connections. This is why I expained about the server aspect - every time you access a webpage you are connecting to an http server somewhere.
I believe there is another type of connection limit, a hard coded limit of 10 incoming TCP connections to any XP PC. If I remember correctly this can not be changed in the registry, or at all for that matter.
