waaaaay back and I think I had sucess only once.
It was by way of the onboard Serial port on the MB and the BIOS had to be set on instead of the alt (I think it was OS) similiar to USB settings...the external card would need to be read by the BIOS not as an added device in the Operating System so my advice is to forget about it.
