AnyDVD (kept updated)
DVD Shrink 3.2 to copy file to my PC.
Pocket DivX (VirtualDub) to encode files to DivX .AVIs ---OR--- CopyToDVD to burn image file.
I have created a nice collection using these tools. The files play nice and look good - MOST of the time.
However, with some DVDs I try to rip, the individual files play badly. Whenever something on the screen moves up or down, the edges of the object get a 'jagged' look. I have tried to pause and copy the image, but never works. I have turned ALL quality seetings up and down - no help.
Using the same programs, I CAN copy the DVD and it plays fine. I have used other programs to encode with, and used PocketDivX without AnyDVD or DVD Shrink to rip and transcode - same results.
Anyone know what is causing this? Some protection? A codec I don't have??
