as you do this, the amps drawn by the fan are going to tax the motherboard three pin connector so my advise would be to get a four pin molex to three pin converter and run the fan directly, since you live in a rather hot zone, the extra fannage will really help in the summertime.
you may even want to consider a complete heatsink replacement with new fan, of course. bigger is better, especially if you live in warm climes.
