Suggestion

1st off as you know any drive will work (don't want to confuse anyone else who maybe reading) just it'll end up being the slower and smaller Drives x2 {theoritically}....but NO I believe the 36Gig comes one way with no performance increase latter on like the 74 which had early problems mainly cause WD pushed it out the Door to soon/fast....NOW that you are the one who holds "The goods all Man" what I would do is:

Use the 36 Gig in SATAI Port as the OS Boot-up Drive and then get and RAID0 2 Hitachi 250Gig Drives in the SATAII Ports cause that'll smoke 2 36 Gig Raptors and give you extra space for MultiMedia Encoding/Games etc...you can even partition it out and copy your 36 Gig Raptor on it for a back-up in case that goes down...Hitachi's go for less $'s and are SATAII just what your Mobo calls for you lucky Guy...Reviews on the 250's @ the link...If you still want to go the 36 Gig route I won't sell one to you cause I'll feel as I'll be an accessory to your performance hit
