From experience in the past I always mute line in, thou I had a weird one with my new X-FI. My headset with mic was fine in game mode but in entertainment mode I could here myself talk alittle far in the background thru the headset just found a seperate sound panel & picked mic mute for that mode & problem is fixed. I use that mode more then the game mode thou I mainly play games.
