Regarding your "Christmas Carol" sequel question: I don't recognize the plot summary of the TV one you describe, but I do know of one that was part of a George Burns' comedy special aired in the 80's:

Additionally, there are quite a few literary "sequels" to CC out there. The first was published in the early 1900's, I believe. However, there have been half-a-dozen written in the last five years or so (I wrote one myself). Here's a few featured in a publicity release last year:
