stressed her all night, turns out that 2.97 is stable (11x270), anything higher and i get errors.
so, 2.97 ain't bad for my first run in with 939 on a personal machine, i have built a couple for customers.
LED, i will do the encoding thing, maybe we should rip the same files, so the comparison is as equal as possible, nezpa???
for ANYONE wanting to make the jump to 939 and not have the expense of getting PCI-e right away, this is the cheapest way i can think to. the AMI bios is easy to learn, the system is solid, compares admirably to the NF4 platform.........you don't have to get an opty, so for about $200 you can make the switch.
lets see, running 2.55 max with 2800+ 754, then running 3.03 max with a 148 opty 939, i don't need to do any stinkin' math................
and, even though the MB doesn't have firewire, my sound card does, so a powered firewire hub can take care of most business in that arena.
