I would dig around in her LAN & internet settings as that sounds like its setup wrong for a different network. Something like detect new network (LAN) or internet connection.
Ya also your cable ISP might want to charge you more for having more then one computer hooked up so dont call they for help, as they rape ya enuf already. We have many users here so I pay even more for a slightly faster connection. Anyways they even piss ya off by offering 1/2 price internet for 6 months to new users (we never got that kind of offer to start with or even later). & to boot the more people that get on the cable system the slower & longer peak times last, where you go slower.
