...and stay laissez faire on the rest, I really fail to see this as anything except UN/EU posturing. Especially since the UN just hosted the World Summit for the Information Society in Tunisia, which was simultaneously blocking off Tunisian-based protest websites.

The last thing I want is to see the root servers for an open-information network in the control of an entity whose right hand doesn't seem to know what its left hand is doing on a distressingly regular basis, or in the control of a country or group of countries that have very broad and generous ideas onwhat a "hate speech" law can be.
