The problem as I see it is the (MBR) Master Boot Record contains alittle execution code & a partition table. Recovery Console can put back the execution code but does not put the partition table data back which is on the same sector right after the code. So either you enter the info by hand with some third party software. Or have a backup of the MBR & a second HD to boot XP & put back the whole sector.
So to avoid using DOS totally this fix is really a non fix, LoL.
