Sorry it took sad news to bring me by. Scott was a basically sweet soul, but he lived way too hard on the shakey edge. 
He spent a couple of days at my place, last year, and we kept in touch by phone. I'm glad I got to know him. 
A number of his friends saw that he was headed for a crash and tried to offer our hands out to him. Sadly, no matter how hard we try, sometimes, it can never be enough to stop someone so hell bent on going down for the count.
