I have a 7200 64 meg Radeon and 512 meg of DDR2100 Ram. I'm running XP Pro and I have mine set at 256 meg. Yes it makes a difference in XP.
Rule of thumb I've seen is to set it to 1/4 to 1/2 your system ram. I don't know if in WIN98 you'll see any difference, but WIN2K & Xp you should.
