Signifcantly modified design permits much higher operating frequencies, if I remember correctly from reading industry news websites, the first planned incarnations are 400MHz (200DDR) and 533 (266DDR). A handful of DDR-II compliant parts are already in production and being used for graphics applications.

If the final designs work out as planned, a current DDR DIMM will operate in DDR-II sockets.

But yeah, if he's just now upgrading from a P75...LOL
