Ok, I think I found the problem with being able to format the drive from the boot disk.
When I was booting from the Win98SE boot floppy, it was loading the various files into
a virtual RAM drive called "D:". I think what was happening was that when I
tried to format D:, it was being interpreted as trying to format the RAM drive.
Which, of course, would give an error. I had been selecting the boot disk option
to not load the CD-ROM drivers, but this last time I booted with the option to
have CD drives adressable and this made the boot disk load it's files
into a RAM drive called E:
And suddenly I could format the D: drive with no problem. Mystery solved on that,
I think.
Now all I have to do is figure out how to get this stupid Ghost 6.03 to make
an exact copy of the C: drive to the D: drive.
Any help on this last problem would be appreciated.
