Depends. I have bought a ton of the stuff I have reviewed in the past. Electronics Boutique had this 7 days exchange policy that I used (with the approval of the sorte manager) to review some of the items, mostly graphics cards and some other smaller items. I have bought some 20 CPUs, a ton of mainboards, HDDs, PSUs memory etc. and even after more and more freebies started coming my way it is always that there is something that you need to do a good review and that you don't have. Try doing a mainboard review when all you have is an old TBird 1.0G. Or run Quake3 on a GF2.

What I am getting at is that, no matter what you get, there is always the need to spend more and often, the only way is to trade goodies with other sites.

I know that there are other sites that don't take this stuff as serious and just grab whatever they can but then, look at the average life span of review sites and you kind of get the drift who is working for just the goodies and who is serious.
