Is the very way the game is marketed. You want to add more and more stuff to the game. So you can buy stuff, go to new places, and interect with new stuff. Most of this add on stuff if D/Led from the net made by fans of the games. Add in too much crap and any game will take forever to load. Also, as far as I can tell the game loads the whole field in one shot. That would be like loading the entire Return to Castel Wolfenstein game (every level) at the same time, and expecting it to play well. Call me picky, but I don't think Maxis should be responsable for their software to work with Joe Schmoe's spiffy add on. However, They have majory bungled if just adding Hot Date causes it to load 15 mins slower.
