Buy a Linksys 4Port Broadband router at Bestbuy for $89. Let it serve DHCP through-out the network. You can keep a static on the printer, it won't hurt anything. I would recommend switching the printer to dynamic assignment if possible.
HUB??...SWITCH???... you won't see any difference in the 2 pieces of equipment unless you have HEAVY data flow on the network.
