I have the 5.1 Platinum, and the LiveDrive is pretty slick for recording from an external source, or playing CD's, files, or DVD's with the remote. The shitty thing is that even the Platinum doesn't come with Creative's DVD player software that works with the remote. I had to get it through alternate channels. What I use the LiveDrive for the most is the headphone jack.
In the U.S., the Player is called XGamer, and last I checked it had Thief II, Unreal Tournament, MDK2, and Deus Ex. There's also the MP3+ version that is exactly the same as the Player, except it has some mp3/music software instead of the games.
I don't know a thing about AC3 files. Aren't they PCM? Would a wave editor be able to splic them?
