download the 30-days shareware of aviedit. install the divx codec on your computer.
open the video in aviedit and choose save as, choose the codec ( leave standart parameters at defaults ) and save it...
afaik, aviedit can even capture from any valid capture device. you'll have to try and see if it works. If you want to capture to divx format directly, keep in mind that you will need a rather fast cpu to encode the video on-the-fly. I always capture uncomressed first, then edit and as a last step compress the video.
