Naw, MS don't care about license..they just want to steal your personal information and sell it to marketers. Anyone in their right mind that knows anything about business knows that you don't want to waste resources and money on customer support (registering every 10 days) unless you HAVE to.

Business sense would dictate that microsoft would check when people go to get updates, patches, and fixes.

Also, what are they gonna do if they actually catch a person using their software on their family's computers? Not much other than send them a bill. If Microsoft gets too greedy, the typical consumer will boycott and go elsewhere for their computing needs.

Microsoft could fix the problems with piracy by simply doing a few things.

1) allow free unlimited licensing for a product within the home only.

2) drop the prices to that which computer manufacturers pay - which is about $30/copy instead of the rip-off price gouging $200 the consumer has to pay.

Microsoft is the only one to blame for piracy since they made the black market ripe for it by charging high prices.

It's all pure greed, plain and simple.
I still remember the monopoly days of the phone company. Sounds like Microsoft is following in their footsteps.
