160SCSI doesnt drop frames in AV work up to 30GB/sec. RAID100 cant do 30MB/sec and drops 1 in a 1000 (40seconds) at 20MB/sec - unacceptable for some, particularly when you vid app crashes on missed frames.
This is reported repeatedly on vid sites...ask the same Q at rec.video.desktop.
But in the end you get what you pay for...eh?
