There is an internal network that runs a LC-MS instrument. The computer has a set IP address and is running Bootp. The LC and MS each have set IP addresses. They are connected to a hub right now.
What I want to do is preserve this internal network, but also allow access to the internet (building network). I need to keep bootp from seeing the outside network, however, as it would cause problems with it finding print servers, etc., on the WAN.
I think routers are capable of this. I think you can disallow bootp on the WAN, but I'm not sure... I'm looking for suggestions for both routers and how to do this from network experts out there...
