In Reply to: AMD Athlon/T-Bird/Duron What's the difference? posted by Stephen
Message:

the Tbird is a breed of the Athlon.
Athlon had the classic athlon and the Tbird
Duron is not an Athlon but merely a degraded version like the Celeron.

just like Intel, AMD names their CPUs. Intel has 2 version fo P3: the katmai (codename) and coppermine, which are both different breeds of P3 but both come under Pentium III. The same goes for AMD (sort of).
