loosing all my hard disk system volumes

not sure if anyone is still viewing this BBS - thought i'd try anyways - at least recommend anoter site if you can for me to list as well.....

a couple of weeks ago I lost a hard disk....then a few days later another.
i managed to recover the files via easus.
then i lost another, i managed to recover those files as well
drives reformat okay - reload.
now i've just lost another....???

what info do you need to help me?
could it be a virus? i scanned m system with agv
could it be a mobo power issue? dosent seem to matter wich port i put the drive on. bios and easus can still find it ok although sometimes i've had to do a raw search, cause it cant find a partition - just xp doesnt find it - its registered as offline or inactive.

today i did try to power down and leave it off for 30mins - thinking it might be a temperature issue. seemed to work......hmmmmm....

are there viruses that do this sought of thing to annoy the crap out of you?

i now have 2 new 2tb hard drives in and they seem to be okay...for now....but the drive i lost last night (wich came back after ower off after 30mins) - is a couple of years old.

just seems strange i loose the system vol or fat or something that causes the drives to drop offline or go inactive and i cant get them back.

cant sa the power off solution worked for any others since the htpc is normally always on - and it was just through chance the power down was tested last night.
