There is one transistor in the SATA ports that can
burn out over time and Intel is recalling all
chipsets / boards before anybody loses data. From
the info released by Intel it does not seem to be a
huge issue but even a small percentage of failure
would create the basis for a class action law suit
that in any case would cost more than a recall at
this stage - even if they say that this move will
cost Intel some 1 billion US$
