just stick with the installation tools, it'll prompt you to create partitions anyway and the bitmap-based logging of the drive's contents in Win7 may not be completely compatible with the manufacturer's tools that were developed for "the any-operating system".

We have seen too many problems in the past with the partitionining and drive-setup utilities from manufacturers to recommend using them. Most of the stuff is a repackaging of Ontrack's drive utility anyway going back to 1996 or so when things were still happily chucking along on FAT 16.

In other words, stick with the basic options offered during the installation, you'll know when you see it under "drive options"
