I have a Toshiba Tecra Laptop of a customers.It had been struck by a virus which i've cleaned out.
The virus managed to mangle a few programs and such ,all of which i have restored/re-installed to working condition.

The only problem is the sound.I can not get it back to working state.I have cleaned out the registry and reloaded drivers[a few times],all with no success.
It has an Intel chipset[Gi915GM] and an Analog Devices AC97 on board chip and runs SoundMax drivers.The official sound drivers package from Toshiba won't load in;and if they "appear to" there's still no sound.Without drivers the computer keeps finding "new hardware":Viz "Audio device".
I've been going round in circles with this;Any Ideas anyone? How to get this happening?
