I just got through setting up XP Home OEM on a computer, and after the initial setup was complete, I got the usual warning message from Windows Security Center that "antivirus software might not be installed."

I was planning to install AVG anyway, and when I did, not only did Windows detect it immediately, the Security Center started passing me notices about the virus definitions possibly being out of date.

I wondered why the two were so friendly with each other, and this might explain it.
