Your motherboard may have died, although obviously that's a pretty hard thing to dignose when it's not giving you a clear sign one way or the other. Before attempting anything crazy, try locating the manual (if you still have it) or contacting the manufacuter, and see if you can find any sort of hardware reset switch for this thing. If available, it may exist as some sort of pinhole switch somewhere on the back or bottom and require a bent paperclip to access.

Have you already tried disconnecting both the battery and the AC power pack and letting the unit sit dead for an overnight spell?
