Feh...not a great review IMO, they spend most of their time complaining that the Atom board just won't work for enthusiasts like themselves. Well, duh -- but I've got a very similar VIA C7 system operating as a low-rent MediaPC right now, and it happens to be cool and quiet while being adequate for Xvid and MP3 playback.

The Atom and smilar systems like my C7 are basically a modern equivalent to the old Cyrix MediaGX boards, just slap on RAM, a cheap PSU, and disk subsystem, and voila, a quiet, functional PC for $150 and change.

The only disappointment I see is that Intel still doesn't have a good low-power chipset out for this thing. Get a 2.5W TDP CPU, pair it with a chipset consuming four times as much...wait, what?
