In most cases;motors i,ve dissassembled from CD/DVD drives are TWO TERMINAL, mostly soldered directly to a board.Most Platter Motors appear to be DC[speed controlled by a chip and Back EMF]I,ve even pulled Motors from VCR,s and used them in place of a platter motor.
Are you telling me that the labels and markings that state D.C. 9Volts [or similar ] are ,in fact ;incorrect?
Some have Stepper motors,but they are rare.
