Part of the reason why the IBM-Hitachi deal almost fell through was because Hitachi wanted Komag and IBM refused due to the commitments it had with WD, Seagate, and Maxtor...Little did IBM know that perpendicular-recording drives werein the future which is now....Hitachi just wanted to corner the Market...Not gonna happen as Seagate, Toshiba, and Hitachi all have perpendicular-recording drives in there standard HD's |
