Maintains media file associations to prevent other apps taking these over. Unnecessary IMHO as Winamp can be configured to re associate these when it is started. Also allows access to Winamp's bookmarks from tray icon when Winamp itself is not running. Quite harmless - but it takes around 2,500K of memory, and appears to slow Winamp start very slightly. I don't use it - but I can see it might be useful to some. If you don't want to use it, right click the tray icon and choose 'disable' - gone for good!
